This week I’m continuing to make Mario brick / blocks. So far I finished all the small sized bricks while binge watching about 3 hours of TV. The large bricks should only take half as long, since there’s half as many, and I plan to wrap that up by the end of this week.

Next week I’ll continue crafting by working on the yellow question mark blocks. Again, I’m not making them 3D yet, but just making the 6 faces for each block, which will eventually be glued to cardboard boxes.
The other important thing I’m doing this week is planning and prepping for all the other major crafting that needs to be done. Normally, I would spread this out over the course of many weeks and do it all on my own, but I decided I want to do something different this time. When my college age daughter is home for Spring break in a couple weeks, my mom is coming over and we are going to have a girls’ night / crafting party. Snacks, movies, knives, and glue guns….should be a blast! During our crafting party we should be able to get all the major decor either prepped or completed. Some of the pieces such as the Goombas, are made out of balloons, so those won’t be able to be done much in advance, but we can at least get a prototype made and make all the pieces (the eyes, the mouths, the feet, etc.).
To get ready for our craft party, I went back through my spreadsheet today and ordered all the items I can get online. Now I need to head to some local stores to attempt to find the rest. When I am shopping for parties, I usually research prices online in advance for Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and so forth, then I head to Dollar Tree to see if I can get anything comparable there for less money. Sometimes Dollar Tree is NOT the least expensive place to get supplies, especially now that it is actually the $1.25 Tree, so it’s good to have a price list on hand to compare their prices to other retailers.

I am already halfway through my 13 weeks of party planning, and definitely feeling the pressure, like time is running short! This is a normal feeling that I get at the halfway mark, but I’ve never actually “run out of time”, so I know everything is going to be fine!
