Making Party Food More Fun

As is common with themed parties in this day and age, I like to have a themed menu and create some decor to go with the food.

Now that I have my menu set, I bought some more Mario graphics on Etsy, downloaded a Mario font, and used them to make some themed food signs.

These are the signs for the main menu of items I will serve at the start of the party

And these are the signs for the little snack bar that I’ll have sitting out for the duration of the party.

I also wanted to add a couple more fun touches. First, some Bowser food picks for Bowser’s Burgers. I made these by creating a double triangle design in photoshop and cutting it out with the cricut’s print and cut feature. Then I simply folded each double triangle in half and hot glued a toothpick inside the crease before hot gluing the points together.

I also added some embellishments to my beverage dispenser. I wrapped the base of the dispenser in green posterboard, added some leaves, then hot glued white spots (cut with my circle punch) to the main part of the dispenser. The hot glue will easily peel off when I’m done with it.

For the sake of a photo, I filled my beverage dispenser with red paper. At the party, it will obviously be filled with red punch.

About Me

I’m a highly introverted mom of 5 who follows the attachment style of parenting. I’ve been stay-at-home mom for over 20 years and have lived in 5 different states. I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting will never use it. My obsessions are home decorating, party planning, all things DIY, neurotic cleaning, Quicken, Disney World, rocket launches, and photographing wild animals and children (which are basically the same thing). I decided to start this blog as a way to carry on endlessly about stuff I like doing.
