Since I’m making 75 blocks for this party (I currently have 60 finished and 15 to go!), I figured I could go the extra mile on 5 of them to use as interactive props for the party.
I’ve seen this idea done a few ways on Pinterest. I decided to do mine this way.

I used my Cricut to cut square pieces of yellow card stock with circles cut out of the middle of them. I used these square-circles to trace circles onto my boxes with a pencil and cut them out with a box cutter. Then I cut out squares of yellow tissue paper a little smaller than the card stock squares and stuck them to the card stock with glue dots. I also cut circles in the yellow squares of construction paper that would be attached to the bottom of the boxes. That’s a lot of words, but it’s pretty self-explanatory when you look at the photo.
Inside each of these punch boxes I put a letter from Princess Peach telling the kids where to go next on their quest, a tool from Princess Peach for the kids to use in the next land they visit, and just for fun, about 80 plastic coins that will rain on their heads when the mystery block is punched open.
Once the items were inside the block, I took my card stock / tissue paper piece and attached it to the box with glue dots.
So I could keep track of which box has which items, I put a tiny round sticker on the bottom with a number on it. You can barely see it in the photo and it won’t be noticeable to anyone during the party except me.
It actually took a couple hours to make these punch boxes, but I think they will be well worth the trouble.
